A Day at the Beach, Rye, New Hampshire October 22, 2007

October 22, 2007, Wallis Sands State Beach, Rye, NH

Our days at the beach are always memorable. Back at the beach, we settled in to enjoy the sun. Cynthia found a dead fish that had washed up on the beach. I took a picture of her as she pretended to eat it. As the afternoon went on, we took out the snack we brought. Several seagulls thought they would be joining us, but Cynthia told them to get away. When they would not listen, she got up and chased them away. Everyone in the area clapped.

A little while later, a woman came by with her daughter who was struggling with cancer. As she was walking away, she said, “Always enjoy your day from the beginning of the sunrise to the sunset. You never know when it will end.” We thought this was very good advice.

As it was getting late, everyone was leaving the beach. We really did not want to leave, but knew we needed to very soon. A teacher approached us and said she had been “watching” us. She said we had an “aura” about us and wanted us to join her for dinner. Since it was so late, we really needed to get home. Maybe we’ll catch you the next time.
